Brian Morrison
Sensei Brian began his study of martial arts as a school-boy boxer before going on to box on an amateur and then semi-professional level. Whilst serving in the RAF Regiment he studied both sabre and foil fencing and also took part in competition bayonet fighting.
After leaving the RAF Regiment Sensei Brian commenced training in Kempo Jujitsu with Sensei Ronny Whittle and Juku Ryu Jujitsu under Sensei Alan Tattersall. Sensei Brian is a founder member of the International Aiki Budo Council and studied Kogusoku Aikijujitsu under Sensei George Oughton 7th Dan. He attained the Budo Certificate covering all arts and holds 5th Dan.
Sensei Brian began studying the Japanese sword by practising Seitei Iai and also studied Koryu under Haruna Sensei and Oshita Sensei of the Zen Nippon Kendo Remei as a member of the British Kendo Association. In the early 1990's he was among a number of students that began to study the traditional style of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu. Shortly after the formation of this group they were adopted by Iwata Norikazu Sensei, a 19th generation Hanshi and Menkyo Kaiden of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu and founder of Zen Koku Roshukai. They then became the English group of Oe Masamichi - or Eikoku Roshukai - and commenced study of the full tradition of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu under Iwata Sensei. Sensei Brian went on to become a direct student of Iwata Sensei.
Sensei Brian is a Chief Instructor for Eikoku Roshukai and is the Dojo leader of Seiro Kan.
