I am a student of Reg Winnall (Shunpu Kan Dojo Stafford) who introduced me to Japanese Swordsmanship more than 10 years ago. I trained with Reg twice a week before I began to move around the country with various jobs and I have continued to train with him biweekly since relocating to Suffolk 7 years ago.
For a period of approximately 2 months while working in Nottingham I also received weekly instruction from Brian Morrison (Seiro Kan Dojo Nottingham). I continue to seek Brian's instruction and comments whenever possible but due to my current location opportunities are unfortunately infrequent.
Another very influential figure has been Neil Kemp, his instruction on seminars, encouragement and continued email correspondence answering questions and giving helpful feedback from his own extensive experience has been invaluable.
Further to this I have been able to travel to Japan three times to attend MJER seminars in Ozu. Once in 2004 and twice in 2007, both times in 2007 I was very fortunate to have received instruction from Iwata Norikazu Sensei.
I consider these people my teachers and those who have had the most significant influence in shaping my iai, to them I am most grateful.

As well as continuing to regularly seek instruction I practice and instruct regularly at the Shunpu Kan Dojo Norfolk.
